God’s Calling

We have returned from Mozambique, and it is now more evident than ever that what God has called us to do as a ministry is greatly needed.

You might ask, what does our ministry do?

From our very first trip to Mozambique, God revealed the needs, and we now feel an urgent call to work harder than ever to address them. These needs include resources in Portuguese for pastors to learn from, more teaching for leaders and pastors so they can disciple others, and a continuous demand for Bibles. This time, we witnessed pastors coming from remote areas without a Bible, and thankfully, someone was able to provide them with one.

Time is moving faster and faster, and with it, the cry from people searching for something to complete them grows louder. The only answer to that longing is Jesus. Money and material possessions cannot fill that void. We have met the happiest people who have almost nothing, yet they radiate joy. This shows that more possessions do not bring happiness—only Jesus does.

Over the years, as we have travelled in and out of Mozambique, teaching pastors and leaders the Word of God, it has been wonderful to see how they take initiative and start projects. The latest project involves teaching children from diverse backgrounds and religions. This initiative is experiencing tremendous growth, and it is amazing to see parents sending their children to learn how to read, write, spell, count, and acquire other basic skills needed for school, all while being exposed to the Word of God through songs and teachings.

We are not a traditional missionary organization, we are one that God has uniquely formed to meet specific needs, and we will continue to do so.

We will be putting together a video from our last trip using footage taken during the trip. Once it’s ready, we will make it available.

Four new motorbikes

It is with great joy that I can say all four motorbikes have been supplied and are being used.

I can honestly say that when we planned our trip to Mozambique, we were not intending to purchase any vehicles.

Days before we were to leave, I said to my wife, “We have a fund to buy a car in Mozambique, but it hasn’t grown much. I feel we should use the fund to buy motorbikes instead. This will set something in motion toward purchasing the bakkies we want.”

We went to the bank and withdrew the funds. When we arrived in Nampula and were driving from the airport, we began to inquire from the pastors about the cost of a good second-hand car. After doing the math, we found we didn’t have enough—this would have been our first option.

The next question was, how much do motorbikes cost? We did the math and realized we could afford four motorbikes. The pastors had no idea we had the funds to buy the motorbikes and thought we were just inquiring about costs.

On the evening of July 3, 2025, we sat down with head Pastors Almeida and Costa and explained that we wanted to purchase four motorbikes: one for Nampula, one for Monapo, and two for Nacala. We handed them the funds and made it their responsibility to purchase the motorbikes.

It was truly awesome to see their response and how they purchased the four motorbikes. We know they will be used to their fullest potential.

A Testimony

We heard from the treasurer of the Monapo church about how they had been praying for the pastor to have his own transportation, as the treasurer was the one arranging transport or driving the pastor when possible. The cost of hiring transport was also adding up. The leadership of the Monapo church was thrilled to receive the motorbike, as it was not only an answer to prayer but also a way for them to reach the areas they are evangelizing.
